Ladies Auxiliary

Thanks to all that came out to help with TWB and Spartan Steel picnics this year. We will be accepting nominations for Officers and Board of Directors at the October 10th general membership meeting and you must be present to accept the nomination. The elections will take place on Dec. 12th at the General Meeting.

Sunday/Tuesday Workers

Sunday workers are still needed for Oct 28th, Nov 25th, Dec 23, and Dec 30th! Please check your calendar and sign up for these dates or contact Gary Zorn. The dinner will be held on Dec 15th at the club and time will be posted near the dinner date.

 

Hey Kids

Jr Conservation shooting class meets every Thursday 6:30 – 8:00 pm. This is open to members and non-members children between the ages of 10 – 16. The cost is $3.00 per class and all supplies are provided. Space is limited so come early and often. If you have any questions see Jerry at the class.

 

Nominations and Elections

We will be accepting nominations for President, Vice President and five Board of Directors at the October 10th general membership meeting. You must be present or have a written letter of acceptance to be nominated. The elections will take place on Dec. 12th; Polls open at 8:00 am and close at the General Membership meeting. The By-Laws will be voted on at the December Membership meeting.

 

Archery News

Reminder that the Winter Archery League starts up in January 2008. The sign up sheet and rules will be posted at the club in the beginning of December. I am trying to find out if we have enough interest to start a morning league on Tuesday or Thursday There will be a sheet posted for interest at the club. Winter Trap & Skeet League

The winter trap and skeet league will start on Sunday Dec. 2nd, 2007. The sign up sheet is already posted at the club. All names MUST HAVE PHONE NUMBER listed to be put on a team. The halfway banquet will be on Sunday Feb 10th from12:00– 5:00 pm. The final banquet will be Sat May 3rd, 2008 beginning at 3:00 pm. The dues will remain at $50.00 for one league and $70.00 for both. Meet your team will be Dec 2nd at noon. Food will be available. If you have any questions call Mark Palmer at 734-777-3139 or Chris Schassbauger at 734-397-4247.

 

Rib & Chicken Dinner

Just a word of thanks to the members and non-members that came out to help me put on this years dinner. If you came out I hope you had a good time. If you didn’t you missed out on a good time.

By-Laws Committee meeting September 14, 2007

 

The By-Laws Committee recommends the following By-Law changes to the Board of Directors:

 

First Change:

This section is to be removed from the By-Laws.

Article II Section (15) – Membership in the Michigan United Conservation Clubs will be 100% of the membership of the Monroe County Rod and Gun Club Inc.

 

Second Change:

This Article will be added to the By-Laws.

Article V Section (10) – Officers and Directors of the Monroe County Rod and Gun Club, Inc. shall be required to maintain their annual membership with the Michigan United Conservation Clubs (MUCC). These dues shall be paid annually to the club and the club will pay MUCC to maintain the club’s affiliation.

 

Third Change:

This section of the By-Laws will be amended with the words in bold italics.

Article VIII Section (1) – No assessments shall be levied upon any member or group of members with the exception of Article V Section (10).

 

Fourth Change:

This Article and Section will be added to the By-Laws.

Article X

Use of Revenue

Article X Section (1) – All funds and assets of the Monroe County Rod and Gun Club, Inc. shall be used only for purposes that are consistent with the purposes of the club and for actual administrative expenses in conducting the affairs of the club under the direction and with the approval of the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors may purchase land, building and equipment and operate and maintain the same as required to further the purpose of the club.

 

Fifth Change:

This section will be added to the By-Laws.

Article X Section (2) – Revenues of the Monroe County Rod and Club, Inc. shall not be used for the benefit of any individual, member or shareholder of the qualified organization except to further the lawful purposes of the club.

 

These changes to the By-Laws will be voted on at the December Membership Meeting. Must be accepted by 2/3 majority present!
